The first reels produced by View-Master (1939) were constructed from dark blue card stock with a distinctive gold center foil upon which the reel title, number, and captions were printed in a hand lettered typestyle.

Production of some 135 different titles were thus produced before Sawyer’s changed their construction to a reel front, tan in color, with a blue printed ring to give  the appearance of the previous gold foil center styling, while at a lower production cost..

This means today, that the short-lived gold center reels traditionally enjoy the highest of values due to their historical significance and scarcity.

Condition:
This reel includes original gold sleeve (envelope). Reel is in excellent condition, each image retains its full color and there is NO spidering, NO mold, NO violet spots, NO bubbling on reel.
