Canadian born, Montreal based Guillaume Simoneau began his independent studies in photography after completing a diploma in applied science. Today his practice is informed by both fine arts and editorial assignments. His body of work Love and War was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago and published by Dewi Lewis Publishing (UK, 2013) The publication was shortlisted for both First BookAward and European Publishers Award for Photography. His recent series Experimental Lake was published by MACK (UK, 2017) and exhibited at Stephen Bulger Gallery the same year. In 2019, his new body of work Murder premiered as a major solo exhibition at Rencontres d’Arles. The exhibition, organised by Momenta, travelled to Tokyo and Antwerp and is scheduled for both Toronto and Quebec City in 2020. Murder was published in August 2019 and is Simoneau’s second consecutive monograph with MACK. Simoneau is a 2018 Light Work AiR recipient.
